Creativity Gone Bad

A few nights ago I decided I wanted a healthy little snack. I pulled out a pack of instant pudding. It has only 2 steps:
1 - add 2 cups of cold milk to powder mix
2 - stir for 2 minutes and pour into individual bowls to be eaten
That seemed boring and sort of linear. I noticed behind the instant pudding box some lady fingers (used in Tiramisu). I figured I could sort of add them, chop up some bananas, and add Cocoa powder on top. I envisioned this killer Tiramisu-meets-pudding creation. It turned into a huge mess that no one was willing to eat. I tried to salvage it by blending the whole thing in a blender (think milk shake) but it didn’t work either. By the end it was reminiscent of a “dark chocolate mocha freddo” drink you get at Pete’s Coffee.
Sometimes, creativity goes bad. It fails. Resources are wasted. You know what I think about that? I think its awesome! Better to experiment then to gut stuck eating proverbial “instant pudding” the rest of your life!
Here’s to smart, calculated, creative risks!
